Fisken marked his return to modern racing with a fourth-in-class finish
and 19th place overall in the American Le Mans Series race at Road
America this weekend.<br><br>The experienced sportscar and historic car
racer teamed up with fellow Brit Ryan Lewis and American John Faulkner
for the race at Elkhart Lake and finished just outside the podium
places in the premier P1 category. The positive result was achieved
despite the trio's Intersport Racing Lola B06/10-AER being involved in

Along with team-mates John Faulkner and Gregor Fisken, Ryan steered the No.30 Lola to a fourth place finish in the LMP1 class.<br><br>It was Ryan who qualified the car, taking fourth place behind the two Audis and the sister Intersport Lola which runs with around 50hp more than the No.30 car; and it was Ryan who started the race when it got underway shortly after 4pm yesterday afternoon. The team's No. 30 Lola AER of Ryan Lewis, John Faulkner and Gregor Fisken soldiered home to a fourth place in-class result after overcoming a variety of issues during the four-hour race.<br></p>Jon qualified the No. 37 Cellulosic E85-powered prototype in eighth, and as always, produced some fireworks at the start. He rocketed his way up to the third position on the first lap, and set his sights on the two leading Audis. However, when the first caution of the race came out ten minutes in, the Brian Alder-led crew elected to bring Jon in for an early pit stop. He restarted in 11th, but quickly gained ground by the second yellow, when most of the leaders made their stops. This put Jon in second at the restart. As the green flew, he drove to the front, passing the LMP2 Penske Porsche of Romain Dumas for the overall lead. He held the top spot for eight laps, until getting passed by the Lucas Luhr-driven Audi. The British driver recently spoke about the Mid-Ohio race and his thoughts going into Road America.<br><br>"After Mid-Ohio it was a great feeling just to be back out racing again," said Ryan. "Myself and John (Faulkner) shared all the luck in the Intersport camp over the weekend, with our sister car suffering mechanical woes all weekend. That was the disappointing part of the weekend as I was looking forward to a good battle during the race. The Dublin, Ohio-based team's No. 30 Lola B06/10 AER of Ryan Lewis and John Faulkner finished third in class in their Series debut while the sister No. 37 Very Berry Exotics machine of Jon and Clint Field and Richard Berry encountered electrical and engine gremlins, knocking them out of the race early on.<br /> <br />Lewis stared in his American Le Mans Series debut, setting quick lap times and running comfortably inside the top-10 overall during his opening two stints. The former Atlantic driver qualified the E10-fueled prototype in 12th on Friday, and quickly moved into the ninth in the opening laps of the race. However, the Englishman suffered one slight run in with a GT2 car in the second hour, causing a slow puncture and a subsequent spin. Clint and Jon Field of Intersport Racing in Dublin, Ohio along with Patron Highcroft Racing&rsquo;s David Brabham and Drayson-Barwell&rsquo;s Paul Drayson will visit with young people and their families from 12:30 p.m. &ndash; 1:30 p.m. to kick off the Series&rsquo; partnership with the foundation as its official charity.<br />

The Austin Hatcher Foundation, a federally registered 501-c3, was formed by Dr. Jim Osborn and his wife Amy Jo, after the loss of their two-month-old son &ldquo;Hatch,&rdquo; the namesake of the Foundation, to a rare form of cancer. The Osborn's have been champions of children with pediatric cancer and their families for almost a decade. The small Dublin, Ohio-based team of father and son duo Jon and Clint Field and Richard Berry took the No. 37 Very Berry Exotics Lola B06/10 AER to a 10th place finish overall, maintaining its second place position in the LMP1 drivers' and teams' championship standings.<br />

Once again, the team benefited from a wrecked Audi, this time the No. 1 car of Dindo Capello, who collided with a GT1 Aston Martin one hour into the two-hour and 45-minute race. While the factory German diesel was repaired, it rejoined over 15 laps down from Intersport's Lola. Lewis will be behind the wheel for the balance of the season while Faulkner is slated to drive at Mid-Ohio, Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta and the Monterey Sports Car Championships at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Jon and Clint Field and Richard Berry will continue as drivers of the No. 37 Very Berry Exotics entry.
